Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Stenciled Cobalt Eagle Decoration, Stamped "HAMILTON & JONES / GREENSBORO, PA," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a finely-stenciled design of a flying eagle with arrows. Further decorated with freehand stripes and stenciled flourishes, along with bold stenciled "3" at base. Good decoration. Y-shaped crack in underside, continuing 8 1/4" up side of jar.
