Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Elaborate C.L. Williams Stenciling, New Geneva, PA origin, circa 1890, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, flattened rim, and applied lug handles, featuring the elaborate stenciled signature "C.L. WILLIAMS & Co. / SUCCESSOR TO / R.T. WILLIAMS / MANUFACTURERS / OF STONE WARE. / NEW GENEVA, PA.". Freehand stripes above and below stenciling. Base with freehand "4" flanked by dashes. 1" base chip on reverse. Additional small chip to base on reverse. Sticky residue and staining to surface. Shallow chips to ends of one handle. Chips to opposite handle.
