Rare Ornamental Redware Jug, Stamped "SPEESE & SON / GETTYSBURG, PA," late 19th century, skillfully-potted jug with rotund body, rounded foot, and tall cylindrical neck. Rounded handle applied at shoulder. Surface covered in a raised, gold-painted highlights. Impressed on underside with small-sized "SPEESE & SON" maker's mark, along with "No. 41". Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, recently found in Southcentral PA. Excellent condition. H 9".
