One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG. PA," circa 1865, cylindrical jar with sloped shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed cobalt plant with hanging conical blossom. A few minor base nicks and a few minor, short lines at base on reverse. Wear to end of one handle. Wear to section of rim. Areas of shallow chips and wear to inner rim on interior of jar, where a lid would rest.
