Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, PA," circa 1865, ovoid jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with a boldly-brushed leafy stem with hanging flower composed of graduated daubs of cobalt. Excellent condition with two very tiny spout nicks, a minor, shallow chip to handle, and a minor spot of wear base.
