Scarce Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Louisville, KY Advertising and Stenciled Eagle Decoration, Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1875, ovoid jug with tooled shoulder and spout, the front heavily-decorated with a stenciled eagle holding a banner inscribed "Eagle Pottery," above the advertising "BAYLESS McCARTHY & Co. / LOUISVILLE, KY.". Large stenciled "3" with flourishes at base. Blurriness to decoration. Spout chip and minor spout nick. Significant cracks at base, extending up body of jug.
