Two Pieces of Norton Stoneware, Bennington, VT, third quarter 19th century, a two-gallon jar with abstract foliate design accented with cobalt spots, stamped "J. & E. NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT.," paired with a one-gallon stoneware jar with leaf decoration, stamped "E & L P NORTON / BENNINGTON VT". Two-gallon jar with large stone ping at base, some staining, a 7 1/2" crack under one handle that extending 3" onto underside, and wear to inner rim that holds a lid. One-gallon jar with small chip on reverse side of rim.
