Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Slip-Trailed Cobalt Poppy Decoration, Stamped "WHITES' BINGHAMTON," NY State origin, circa 1860, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with an artistic slip-trailed design of poppy plant bearing two large blossoms with dotted petals. Rim chips. Base chip. 1 1/2" hairline from rim on reverse. Short hairline on underside extending 6 1/2" up from base on front. U-shaped hairline at base on front.
