Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Large Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "W. ROBERTS BINGHAMTON NY," circa 1870, cylindrical jug with sloped shoulder and rounded spout, decorated with a long-necked bird with large crest, striped breast, and spotted wing, perched on a flowering vine. A very nice New York State bird. Some staining to surface. Short line at base on reverse. Two small spout chips. A few shallow base chips. Some small areas of fry to cobalt.
