Two Ovoid Glazed Redware Jugs, American, second quarter 19th century, one with heavily-ribbed handle and rounded foot, the surface covered in a lead glaze over a colorful light orange ground; the other with ribbed handle and rounded foot, the surface decorated with splashed manganese and covered in a clear lead glaze. Taller jug in excellent condition with minor wear. Shorter example with base chips, a few short in-the-firing lines in base, light wear to spout, in-the-firing flaws to surface, and minor wear to handle. H (of shorter jug) 7 1/4".
