Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stamped "THOMAS D. CHOLLAR / HOMER," NY State origin, circa 1840, ovoid jar with flared rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a stylized cobalt floral motif beside the number 2. Loss to rim and a few additional small rim chips. Crack extending up from base under one handle. Additional short, minor hairline at base. 2 3/4" hairline from rim on front. Additional short hairline from rim. Some minor nicks on interior where a lid would rest. Some staining to surface.
