One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "J. HEISER / BUFFALO, N.Y," circa 1848-1857, ovoid jug with thick squared spout, featuring a slip-trailed cobalt blossom or grape design hanging from a winding stem with leaves. Small base chip. Minor 1 1/4" hairline to base on reverse. 1 1/4" stone ping to reverse. Small stone ping to side of jug and a stone ping to handle. Small, tight H-shaped line to shoulder, which probably occurred in the firing.
