Five-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Ohio origin, circa 1870, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with an unusual slip-trailed floral design with bell-shaped blossom, flanked by two script numbers 5's. Y-shaped crack on underside, extending 6 1/4" up side of crock under one handle. Some wear to Albany slip on interior base. Otherwise excellent condition.
