Rare Large-Sized Stoneware Bread Crock, Ohio origin, circa 1870, approximately five-gallon, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with large slip-trailed inscription "Bread" with underlying looping line design. Reverse further inscribed "Bread" surrounded by three tornadoes. A folky piece with very unusual writing. Y-shaped hairline under one handle. Otherwise excellent condition. H 15".
