Rare Cobalt-Stenciled Stoneware Filter, Red Wing, MN, circa 1890, cylindrical form with coggled rim and base featuring cobalt highlights, decorated with the stenciled cobalt inscription "SUCCESS FILTER / NATURAL TRIPOLI STONE / PATENTED JULY 2/89 / MADE BY / THE RED WING STONEWARE CO. / RED WING / MINNESOTA". Three chips to flange on underside. Otherwise excellent condition. H 12".
