Rare Red Wing Stoneware Fruit Jar, Red Wing Union Stoneware Co., Red Wing, MN, early 20th century, cylindrical jar with Bristol slip glaze and metal screw lid, featuring the cobalt inscription within a shield, "Red Wing Stoneware Fruit Jars / Manufactured by the / Red Wing Stoneware Co. / Red Wing, MN". Reverse with information on filling. Includes metal screw lid. Excellent condition with a minor glazed-over base chip, a tiny base chip (possibly in-the-firing), and a minor fleck of missing glaze at base (probably in-the-firing). A minor nick to threading at rim. A minor fleck of glaze loss to threading, probably in-the-firing. A vertical surface line on interior, not visible on exterior. H (including lid) 7".
