Small-Sized Stoneware Butter Crock with Unusual Cobalt Tulip Decoration, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO," circa 1860, with squared rim and ribbed lug handles, decorated front and back with an unusual brushed cobalt tulip design. Restoration to 3" section of rim and area on one side including leaves of tulip decoration. Restoration extends to opposite side and touches bottom of tulip's head. In-the-making 1 1/2" chip to handle. 8" horizontal hairline on one side. 3" hairline from rim. Crock is misshapen. H 4 1/2" ; Diameter 7 1/4".
