Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Presentation Jar, Incised "Hannah Powers," Eastern Pennsylvania origin, circa 1855, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and squared rim, decorated with a brushed cobalt flowering plant surrounding the finely-incised name "Hannah Powers". Front shoulder with brushed cobalt swags. Reverse with swag and hanging flower motif at shoulder. Hairline on underside, extending approximately 1" onto base on reverse. 3 1/2" tight hairline from rim to left of inscription. Small contact mark to front. Minor rim chip. H 8 5/8".
