Two-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Water Cooler with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1870, cylindrical cooler with tooled shoulder, squared rim, applied lug handles, and circular bung hole. Decorated with brushed cobalt leaves on the front and back. Undersides of handles accented with leafy brushwork. Provenance: Consigned from Washington State. Salt drip to front. 5 1/2" hairline to front. Small flake to exterior of rim. Minor chip to interior of rim. Faint line extending across underside.
