Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Cake Crock with Lid, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder and ribbed lug handles, decorated with brushed cobalt flowers on the front and back. Lid, probably original, decorated with cobalt swags. Crock with restored inverted Y-shaped crack from rim, extending to underside. Rim chips. Long shallow chip to one handle.Lid with large chips to flange on underside, large losses to edge, knob chips, and faint hairlines. H (including lid) 7 1/2" ; Diameter 11".
