Scarce Five-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration and 1856 Date, Beaver, PA origin, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, semi-squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large, boldly-brushed fuchsia flower, underscored by the date "1856". Loss to one handle. Hairlines to same handle. 1 3/4" chip to opposite handle. H 15".
