Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Bird and Floral Decoration, Stamped "L. & B. G. CHACE / SOMERSET," MA origin, circa 1850, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large brushed and slip-trailed cobalt design of a raised-winged bird perched on a flowering vine. Excellent condition with a contact mark near base on front. H 12 1/2".
