Two One-Gallon Stoneware Jugs, Northeastern U.S. origin, circa 1875, a "J.A. & C.W. UNDERWOOD / FORT EDWARD, N.Y." jug with slip-trailed foliate design; paired with a leaf-decorated jug, featuring the impressed advertising "E.A. BUCK & CO., / 14 BLACKSTONE STREET, / BOSTON, MASS." Underwood jug in as-made condition with stone ping to reverse. Top of Buck jug including handle reglued, with additional hairlines at base and on underside, and a base flake on reverse. H (of Underwood jug) 10".
