Six-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Churn, Stamped "M. WOODRUFF / CORTLAND," New York State origin, circa 1867-1869, semi-ovoid form with tooled shoulder, flaring rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large brushed and slip-trailed floral design. Small stone ping to front. Stone ping to base. 1 1/4" stone ping and smaller stone ping on reverse. Two minor nicks on interior ledge where a lid would rest. H 19 1/2".
