Outstanding Six-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Bird and Cherries Decoration, Stamped "W A MACQUOID & CO / POTTERY WORKS / LITTLE WST 10TH ST N.Y.," circa 1860, cylindrical churn with tooled shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large cobalt design of a bird pecking cherries from a branch. Brushed "6" below rim. Excellent decoration. Hairlines on underside, continuing onto base. Minor wear to interior where a lid would rest. H 17 1/4".
