Scarce Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Double Bird Decoration, Stamped "OTTMAN BRO'S / & CO.. / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.," circa 1880, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of crossed birds perched in tree branches. Some fry to cobalt. Top-to-bottom crack from rim. Two rim chips on exterior. 1 rim chip on interior. H 11 1/2".
