Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "GEDDES NY," circa 1870, cylindrical crock with rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed and slip-trailed bird with long tail, perched on a stylized branch. 8" crack from rim to right of decoration. 6" hairline from rim to left of decoration, with two additional short hairlines in rim. 7 1/2" wedge broken and reglued on reverse, with additional 8" crack extending from it. Flaking to reverse and underside. Large rim chip on reverse. H 9 3/4".
