Extremely Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Impressed "R," attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865, cylindrical jar with heavily-tooled shoulder and semi-squared rim, decorated with three large hanging flowers around the body. Shoulder features an impressed "R," presumably for "Remmey". This jar is first example we have seen bearing such a mark. 1 3/4" hairline at base. Stone ping to rim, two tiny rim nicks, and a tiny nick to shoulder molding. H 10 1/2".
