Four-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stamped "E. FOWLER / BEAVER, PA," circa 1870, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, flaring collar, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt looping line design accented with dots and stripes. Reverse with impressed Fowler mark. Inverted Y-shaped 7 1/2" thin crack from rim on reverse. Hairlines in underside. Heavy chipping to one handle. Fry to cobalt. H 15".
