Two Pieces of Norton Stoneware, third quarter 19th century, a four-gallon crock with large floral decoration, stamped "J. NORTON & CO. / BENNINGTON VT.," paired with a two-gallon jar with crossed leaves, stamped "F. B. NORTON & CO. / WORCESTER, MASS." Provenance: Lynn White Collection, Readfield, ME. J. Norton crock missing one handle, has large crack on reverse, rim chip on reverse, and a few small chips on interior of rim. F.B. Norton jar has flaking at base on front, side, and reverse, as well as a hairline at base, small handle chip, and chips on interior of rim. H (of J. Norton crock) 11 1/2".
