Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Cake Crock with Lid, Mid-Atlantic origin, circa 1845, two-gallon Baltimore, MD cake crock with heavily-tooled shoulder and applied lug handles, decorated front and back with a cobalt swag and hanging flower design. Includes an unsigned Remmey, Philadelphia lid with swag decoration. Crock with restored cracks extending to underside, as well as some crazing to surface, rim chips, and hairlines from rim. Lid with significant exfoliation, losses to knob, and chips to underside. H (of crock) 6 3/4" ; Diameter (of crock) 11 3/4".
