Five-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Bold Cobalt Floral Design, Stamped "N.A. WHITE & SON, / UTICA, N.Y.," circa 1880, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed and slip-trailed cobalt design of a flowering plant with large leaves embellished with stripes, spots, and heavily-shaded edges. Provenance: Lynn White Collection, Readfield, ME. Excellent condition with a 1 1/4" base chip and some minor base chips. There are also a few small, faint lines visible on the underside, which likely occurred in the firing. H 13".
