Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "NICHOLS & BOYNTON / BURLINGTON, VT.," circa 1856-1859, cylindrical jug with sloped shoulder and tooled spout, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt design of a fan-shaped flower extending from a curling stem. Provenance: Lynn White Collection, Readfield, ME. Some fry to cobalt. 1 5/8" stone ping on right side of decoration. 1 1/4" shallow spout chip along with a smaller spout chips. H 14 1/2".
