Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J. BURGER / ROCHESTER, NY," circa 1880, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt design of a flower with cross-hatched blossom. Provenance: Lynn White Collection, Readfield, ME. 5" hairline from base on right side of front, with related paint restoration. 6" surface line on front. In-the-firing separation on interior, not visible on exterior. 2" painted burn mark on reverse. Painted touch-up to underside of one handle, which seems unnecessary. H 10".
