Scarce One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Slip-Trailed Decoration, Stamped "BURGER & CO. / ROCHESTER, NY," circa 1880, semi-ovoid pitcher with tall collar and rim molding, decorated with a slip-trailed looping line design in a heart-like shape. Cobalt brushed over impressed mark. Pitchers by this desirable potting firm are scarce. Provenance: Lynn White Collection, Readfield, ME. Small chips to one side of handle. Smooth chip to side of spout. A few small rim chips on reverse. 2" hairline from rim. 1" hairline from rim on reverse. H 10 1/2".
