Rare Six-Gallon Open-Handled Stoneware Water Cooler with Cobalt Floral Decoration, probably PA origin, circa 1850, ovoid form with flared base, tall collar, and open loop handles, decorated front and back with an elaborate brushed cobalt floral design. Impressed "6" on shoulder. Desirable form. Cobalt flower blossom decoration runs below rim. Both handles restored. Significant restoration over much of surface, including touch-up to much of decoration. Additional rim chip. H 15 3/4".
