Rare Stoneware Canning Jar with Cobalt Eagle Decoration, Stenciled "A.P. Donaghho, / Fredericktown, / Pa," circa 1865, tapered jar with tooled shoulder and flaring "wax sealer" rim, the front of the jar decorated with a stenciled federal eagle with shield clutching olive branches and arrows. Section below eagle with unusual stenciled mark used during Donaghho's early career in Fredericktown, PA. Desirable form, mark, and decoration. Small chips to shoulder molding. H 10".
