Stoneware Wax Sealer with Pear Decoration, Stenciled "PALATINE POTTERY CO. / PALATINE / W. VA," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and rounded rim with wax sealer interior, the front of the jar decorated with a stenciled pear between the stenciled words. Provenance: Tom McCandless Collection, Hopewell, NJ. Spidering hairlines on underside, one of which extends 2" up base of jar. A few small chips to interior of rim. Two base chips. H 8 1/4".
