Five-Gallon "EAGLE POTTERY" Stoneware Jar with Eagle Decoration, Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large stenciled eagle holding a banner, which reads "EAGLE POTTERY." Freehand stripe decoration at shoulder and base. Stenciled "5" at base. Excellent condition. In-the-firing over-fired spot on front. Some fry to cobalt on right side of decoration. 2 3/4" hairline from rim on reverse. Stained spots on reverse and base. H 16".
