Early Stoneware Jug with Impressed Heart Decoration, Stamped "CHARLESTOWN," Massachusetts origin, early 19th century, approximately two-gallon, highly-ovoid jug with tooled neck and ribbed handle, decorated with a dipped rust glaze over the shoulder and at base. Provenance: Sanford Smith, New York, New York. As-made condition with a contact mark on front and at base on left side. H 14 1/2".
