Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, probably Baltimore, MD, circa 1840, half-gallon cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and flared rim, decorated with a series of brushed cobalt swags around the shoulder. Rim chips. Base chip. X-shaped line on underside, continuing 1 1/2" up base of jar. Additional 2 1/4" line on underside, continuing 1/2" up base of jar. H 8 3/4".
