Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "EVAN R JONES / PITTSTON, PA," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with sloped shoulder, rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed cobalt design of a dotted flower hanging from a leafy stem. Excellent condition. Some fry to cobalt. Small chip on interior of rim. Small handle chip. 1" in-the-firing separation line on underside, which extends 2 1/4" onto base and does not extend through to interior. H 13 3/8".
