Glazed Redware Butter Tub, Stamped "JOHN BELL," Waynesboro, PA origin, circa 1860, cylindrical tub with tooled bands and applied rope handles, decorated in streaks of manganese over a yellowish ground. Surface covered in a clear lead glaze. Impressed "JOHN BELL" under one handle. Moderate glaze loss to rim and handles. Wear and two chips bottom edge. 2" crack descending from end of one handle. H (to top of handle) 5 1/2" ; Diameter 8".
