Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird on Stump Decoration, Stamped "BRADY & RYAN / ELLENVILLE. N.Y.," circa 1885, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt design of a bird with turned head and long, fan-shaped tail, perched on a tree stump flanked by shrubs. Restoration to rim and shoulder and reverse. Stone ping to one handle. 2 1/2" hairline on underside, extending onto base area on front. Flaking around base. 3 1/2" hairline extending from a chip to base. H 11 3/4".
