Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Face Jug, Signed "Chester Hewell," Gillsville, GA, circa 1980, wheel-thrown jug with applied facial features, puffed cheeks, and protruding lower jaw, the eyes produced from white clay and teeth produced from porcelain. Surface covered in a brownish alkaline glaze. Incised "Chester Hewell" on underside. Mint condition. H 9 1/2".
