Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Cake Crock, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, PA," circa 1865, with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a large brushed-cobalt spitting tulip design. Large area of restoration to left side of crock, including areas of handle. Restored spot above opposite handle. 3 1/2" Y-shaped line on reverse, which does not go through to interior. 1" line on reverse extending up from base. In-the-firing contact mark on rim. H 7 1/2" ; Diameter 11".
