Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Flowering Pot Decoration, New Jersey or New York State origin, circa 1870, squat-shaped jar with rounded shoulder and rim, decorated with a slip-trailed flowering plant extending from a flowerpot. Slip-trailed "3" below decoration. Spidering hairline in underside, extending 5 3/4" up reverse side of jar. A few stained spots on right side of jar. Small chip on interior of rim and minor wear elsewhere on interior. H 12".
