Rare Three-Gallon Bowl-Shaped Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Tulip Decoration, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO," circa 1860, ovoid jar with semi-squared rim and large extruded handles, decorated front and back with two large tulips with dotted ends. An unusually wide, squat-shaped jar form. Significant restoration to cracks throughout, which includes touch-up of some of the decoration. H 10 1/2" ; W (at opening) 12 1/2".
