Very Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Slip-trailed Cobalt Decoration, Stamped "BALTIMORE / H. REMMEY," MD origin, circa 1820, squat-form pitcher with tooled foot and rim, slip-cup-decorated around the midsection with a series of daisies joined by a leafy stem. Additional cobalt highlights at the rim, handle terminals, and over the maker's mark. Impressed "1" behind handle. One of a small number of signed Henry Remmey, Sr., pitchers known. Restored handle. In-the-firing touch mark on reverse. H 10".
