Two-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Sponged Cobalt Decoration, attributed to Myers & Bokee, Baltimore, MD, circa 1835, ovoid pitcher with flared collar, semi-squared rim, and heavily ribbed handle, decorated with zig-zagging stripe decoration to the body and collar featuring rare sponge application. Form and decoration are consistent with pieces made at the pottery of Baltimore merchants, Henry Myers and John C. Bokee. Shallow in-the-firing chips to spout. Two base flakes on front of pitcher. A narrow 3/4" ping to front. H 14".
